Today the revival of HAIR closes on Broadway. It is so difficult to explain how much HAIR has had an impact on my life. The show, the cast, the music. Everything. I know people who have went to see the show many times and they say they never get tired of it. The hope that this show gives them is never ending. The hope for peace, change, freedom, love, and happiness. I know that’s what this show give me— hope. Every time I listen to the music I am inspired to create, inspired to be a better person, inspired to love with everything I have. I’m inspired to work for peace and equality and to find the best in people. Just like these characters. They believed in something.
Also the original revival cast. Wow, what a family. Seriously, these actors seem like they got so close over the run of the show; it’s amazing that a show can do that. The entire cast has shown amazing strength and endless love to everyone and everything. They are all wonderful people who are truly people I can say I look up to. I know it isn’t all about the original revival cast, but they are close to my heart. The replacement revival cast is extraordinary as well. They kept the show going and kept spreading the love. I am so proud of everyone who was in this production.
Now that HAIR is coming to an end, that doesn’t mean the love, peace, and happiness have to stop. No, not at all. We should all work hard to continue what this cast has done.. what this SHOW has done. Spreading happiness and hope. Goodbye HAIR.
